Reformer Pilates has truly taken off across the UK and Naomi has been teaching far from home, but now Maya and Moon are collaborating with us to host a Level 3 Reformer Pilates teacher training course at their beautiful studio in Christchurch, Dorset.

If you're looking for a local Reformer course close to Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Ringwood and the surrounding areas, join us on 19th, 20th and 21st June and 24th, 25th and 26th July and turn your love for Pilates into your next career journey.

Many people train to teach Reformer without any prior teaching experience at all: Some coming from years of looking after children, and others from a corporate career which has left them feeling unfulfilled.

Whether you already teach some form of movement or not, you will learn all the skills you need to be able to teach incredible Reformer Pilates sessions. You will learn all about the Pilates method, the fundamental skills of teaching movement successfully, as well as how to program incredible group sessions and work with individual client needs.

One thing we do need all students to have is a commitment to learning throughout the process as it demands significant time and attention over the months you will be training: including learning using the online learning platform through videos and workbook, in person training, practice and teaching practice, as well as session planning and assessments.

It's not a quick weekend course. It's in depth knowledge which will set you up for a career in teaching Pilates which you could decide to take further through learning the full Pilates Method on all apparatus (which we run at Poole Pilates Studio) or through further specialist training like ante and post natal or other pathways.

If you have not yet obtained your Level 3 Matwork Pilates diploma qualification you can attend the Reformer Pilates course obtaining a certification to be able to teach without the Level 3 regulated qualification. You could then choose to add on the Level 3 qualification elements at a later date after gaining your Level 3 Matwork. You will learn all the knowledge and skills needed and you will be able to obtain insurance cover regardless of your chosen pathway.

How does the course work?

The course runs over 6 in-person days and required some online learning and self-study in addition to the in-person days.

Learning to teach Reformer Pilates classes effectively, safely and to the highest standard requires time to learn, put into practice and fully assimilate.

During the in-person training days you will spend all of your time using the reformers: learning the Reformer repertoire, practising teaching each other one-to-one, in small groups and eventually the whole group!

You'll be implementing the latest in cuing techniques, problem-solving for different people to be able to teach inclusive classes and assimilating the most up-to-date science-backed information on how to help people the best.

What type of Pilates will we cover?

Pilates is a broad term and if you went to 10 different Reformer (Pilates) classes the chances are they would all be quite different.

On this course you will learn all about the evolution of Pilates and where all the different techniques and takes on Pilates originate (from Contrology through to Classical, Contemporary and a more modern and fitness-based approach).

We will focus on learning the Reformer exercises that Joseph Pilates taught as the creator of this method of movement and you will also learn a more fitness-based approach to teaching classes too.

Ultimately you will come away with an understanding of what Pilates is and how to teach Pilates Reformer classes that align with your own uniqueness and how you would like to teach. You'll be versatile and have the skills to adapt and choose your own pathway.

What are people doing who have passed this course before?

Graduates of the Reformer Pilates teacher training course have gone on to teach successfully as a part-time gig beside their full-time jobs, as their main income and many others have also opened their own Reformer Pilates studios successfully impacting hundreds of people in their communities.

What would you like to achieve with your Pilates instructor qualifications?

Following this course you might like to expand your knowledge and learn more about how to teach prenatal and antenatal clients, older adults, those will long-term medical conditions or even expand into teaching other movement modalities.

There really are endless options!

What do you get?
