Does Pilates instructor training actually get you ready to teach the next day?
Worried you'll spend real money on a Pilates instructor course and come out the other side still not earning, still not teaching, and still not sure you're ready?
For Tasha, it wasn't a question: She passed her assessment and was teaching the very next day.
"Having passed the Assessment I was teaching the following day, and have been ever since." Tasha Neave · Reformer Pilates graduate

Here's how she actually got there.
Who is Tasha, and why does her story matter?
Tasha wasn't a career changer in her twenties with nothing to lose. She'd given up work to raise her two children, taken various local part-time jobs while they grew up, and was approaching 50 with no serious career behind her for around 20 years.
"I was approaching 50 years old and my children were now older teenagers and I was ready for a fulfilling career but was unsure what to do & truth be told a bit nervous as I hadn't had a serious career for around 20 years!"
She'd loved exercise, fitness and wellbeing for years. Friends who'd trained with Naomi recommended her, so Tasha took the plunge and trained in Reformer Pilates.
"It was hard work, but my goodness, it was the best leap & decision I could have made! The learning was interesting & Naomi was always available to support me."
What happened after her assessment?
She started teaching the next day, and she's been teaching ever since. No months of waiting for confidence to catch up with the certificate. No standing in front of a class wondering if she was allowed to be there.
"I love my job, it's varied, challenging & I get to meet so many people..."
She's since gone on to start Mat Pilates training with Naomi too, adding to her Reformer knowledge rather than starting over from scratch.
"I'm now studying Mat Pilates also with Naomi and I'm excited for this next stage to add to my Reformer knowledge. I can absolutely say this has been life changing for me."
Why doesn't every Pilates course get you here?
Because being certificated and being ready to teach aren't the same thing, and a lot of training doesn't close that gap.
Plenty of courses hand you a qualification and leave you to work out how to actually stand in front of a class, price your sessions, and build the confidence to keep showing up.
That gap is exactly what a lot of people are quietly afraid of before they book: not "will I pass," but "will I still feel lost once I do." A course built around real teaching practice, direct feedback, and support that doesn't stop the moment you're handed a certificate closes that gap. One that's mostly theory and a single practical weekend doesn't.
Is it too late to start a new career in Pilates?
No. Age and a career gap are not disqualifying, whatever the voice in your head is telling you. Tasha was approaching 50 with two decades since her last serious career, and it's one of the best decisions she says she's made.
This isn't only about a qualification. It's about a new career, and the freedom that comes with building one on your own terms: your own hours, your own clients, your own income, not someone else's schedule.
What do FFTA graduates actually do after training?
Tasha isn't a one-off. Here's what "ready to teach" turns into once training is done:
"It didn't take long at all to be teaching at 3 new places of work since completing the course." · Louise B.
"I am now teaching at multiple studios locally and have had really positive feedback on my classes!" · Emily T.
"Naomi makes it fun and engaging and leaves you feeling confident to get out there and start teaching!" · Leah D.
"Naomi played such a huge part in allowing me to open my own Pilates studio. I opened The Groove Haus alone as the only instructor and I'm incredibly proud that it is now a fully booked studio." · Jaz G.
Teaching within days. Multiple studios. A fully booked studio of your own. That's the difference between a certificate and a career.
Which course is right for you if this is your story?
Whichever one matches where you're starting from. Here's what's actually open right now.

Quick answers to what people actually ask us
Do I need experience already? No. Tasha hadn't had a serious career in 20 years. Sarah D., another graduate, put it plainly: "I went in not having a clue about the reformer... now I feel confident in teaching with this whole new apparatus." You need a solid personal Pilates practice, not a professional background.
Am I too old to start? No. Tasha was approaching 50. Career changers of every age train with us, and it's never too late to build a new career on your own terms.
How fast could I actually start earning? Tasha was teaching the day after her assessment. Louise B. was teaching at three new places within a short time of finishing. That's what "ready to teach" is built to deliver, not a vague promise.
Can I train in Reformer now and add Mat later, like Tasha? Yes. Plenty of graduates train in one discipline first and come back for the other once they're working. Booking both together as a bundle saves £250 if you already know you want both.
