I'm coming to Scotland - to the fabulous LunaLove Studios in Ayr to be precise - for an in person Reformer teacher training course.
To teach Reformer Pilates successfully you need to:
Know the repertoire (what can you do on a Reformer)
Be able to build and progress movements from a place where people can be successful and then feel challenged (how to make it effective)
Have strategies of modifying and adapting movements on the fly for individuals (because we're all different)
Know how to plan sessions based on the goals of your participants, your own unique style and the vibe of the studio you're teaching in
Understand how to program in the longer term (what journey are you taking people on?)
Be able to get people to do the movements (words and actions to lead them in doing the stuff)
Understand how to use the spring tension and what happens with different body types (a simple toolbox to implement easily in the moment to adjust for the person in front of you)
Confidently be able to screen clients, sign-post where necessary to a healthcare provider, and welcome and reassure everyone else to your classes
We will do all of this through the blended learning instructor training course so that you have all the tools and strategies to teach unique-to-you Reformer Pilates sessions confidently.
The course is blended learning with some online content to study in your own time, 5 in-person training sessions including your assessment and requires some practise in your own time outside of those dates.
